Day 1ACCRA - TAMALE - MOLE NATIONAL PARK

Start your day with a convenient pick-up from your location in Accra and transfer to the airport for your flight to Tamale. Upon arrival at Tamale Airport, you’ll be met and driven approximately three hours to the Savannah Region, home to the spectacular Mole National Park.

About Mole National Park:
Known as the crown jewel of Ghana’s wildlife reserves, Mole National Park spans an impressive 4,577 square kilometers and boasts a rich tapestry of ecosystems. It’s Ghana’s largest wildlife reserve and a sanctuary for an incredible variety of animals and birds.

Wildlife Encounters: The park is famous for its thriving population of elephants, often seen roaming the vast savannah. You’ll also encounter an array of primates, including patas monkeys, baboons, and vervet monkeys.
Diverse Habitats: Mole’s wetlands and waterways provide a home for crocodiles, while the open plains are frequented by hartebeest and other antelope species, offering a dynamic wildlife experience.

Day 2MOLE NATIONAL PARK

A Day of Adventure and Culture in Mole National Park

Begin your day with an early morning walking safari, setting off at dawn to witness the wildlife at its most active. As the sun rises, you’ll have a prime opportunity to observe elephants as they gather near the swimming holes to drink and bathe. The cool morning hours also provide ideal conditions for spotting a variety of bird species, crocodiles basking by the water, and other wildlife before they retreat to the shade. Accompanied by a trained and armed ranger, you’ll approach these incredible animals from a respectful distance, ensuring a thrilling and safe experience.

In the afternoon, embark on a peaceful canoe safari along the Mole River. Paddle through the serene waters and admire the park’s beauty from a unique vantage point. Keep an eye out for wildlife along the riverbanks and revel in the tranquility of the natural surroundings.

Later, venture to the nearby village of Mognori for a guided cultural tour. Day 3MOLE NATIONAL PARK - ACCRA

A Morning of History and Farewell

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll check out and begin your journey to Tamale, where you’ll board your flight back to Accra. Along the way, you’ll stop at the historic Larabanga Mosque, a remarkable site that offers a window into Ghana’s rich cultural and religious heritage.

The Larabanga Mosque is celebrated as the oldest mosque in Ghana and one of the oldest in West Africa. Known as the “Mecca of West Africa,” this iconic structure is a shining example of Sudanese-style architecture, with its striking whitewashed walls and ancient design. Beyond its architectural beauty, the mosque holds significant historical and spiritual importance, making it a must-visit landmark.

This stop will add depth to your journey, allowing you to connect with Ghana’s storied past and appreciate one of its most treasured monuments. After your visit, you’ll continue to Tamale for your flight back to Accra.
